I've been photographing women for over 28 years, and the thing I hear most in the studio isn't "I want to look different". It's "I just want to feel like me again."
Mums who've spent years putting everyone else first. Women who've come through illness, divorce, grief or a run of hard years. Women who turned 40, 50 or 60 and stopped recognising the person in the mirror. None of them needed changing. They needed reminding.
That's what a New Year, Same Me shoot is all about. It isn't about becoming someone else in 2027. It's about starting the year knowing that the woman you are right now is already enough.
What a New Year, Same Me shoot looks like
It follows the same gentle steps as every experience at my studio.
☎️ Your discovery call. A relaxed, no pressure chat about what's brought you here, how you'd like to feel and what you want your images to say. This is where we shape the session around you, whether that's soft and elegant, bold and powerful, or something a little different.
💄 📸 Your studio day. You'll come to my private, all female studio at The Old Barn in Heathfield. Melissa will look after your hair, makeup and outfit changes, and I'll guide you through every pose, from where your hands go to how you tilt your chin. You don't need any experience, and you don't need to arrive feeling confident. That's something we build together on the day.
🖼️ Your private reveal. Once your images are edited, you come back to see them for the first time and choose the ones you love. So many women have told me this was the moment they finally saw themselves the way everyone else already does.
What you might wear
Whatever feels like you. Some women choose lingerie, some bring a favourite jumper, a dress, their gym kit or something that holds real meaning for them. For an empowerment session you don't have to wear lingerie at all. We'll talk it all through on your call.

"I'm not sure I'm brave enough"
You don't need to be. Almost every woman who walks through my door feels nervous. I know that feeling well. I've lived with anxiety and low self confidence myself, and as a mum and a grandmother I understand how easy it is to put yourself last.
One of my clients came to me after breaking her hip and turning 60, feeling like she'd lost herself. Another told me her body confidence shoot gave her exactly the boost she needed. Neither arrived feeling confident. Both left seeing themselves differently.
Whatever happens in the studio stays there, and your images are never shared without your clear permission.

To make it as easy as possible, in house payment plans can be arranged, and 0% finance is also available for eligible clients (subject to status and terms), so you can spread the cost in a way that suits you.
